Charlie Company of the 2/22 Infantry, had its reunion this year in Aberdeen/Montesano. Grays Harbor opened the door and welcomed us. I’d like to thank Jerry Chadwick, Post Commander of the Montesano VFW, the Honor Guards, and Post Chaplin for doing the service at Johnny Chambers’ memorial service last Saturday. And the use of their beautiful VFW picnic grounds in Montesano. To Arne Watland, and Paul Cokley, of Montesano, for getting Chambers’ classmates together. Thanks to Swanson’s Supermarket for everything you did for us! To the Olympic Inn, for its generosity and effort to make us all feel at home. Thanks to The Daily World for the great coverage of our memorial tribute to Johnny Chambers by reporter Will Morris. Thanks to Duffy’s for their hospitality. A very big thank you to the staff and all the volunteers at the Aberdeen Elks. Everything was perfect! We were treated like royalty!
