AMANDA PARK — Dylan Dorhofer scored five touchdowns as Lake Quinault crushed State Deaf, 64-12, in a non-league football game Thursday at Bennett Memorial Field.
Dorhofer scored on runs of 66 and 60 yards, passes of 60 and 21 yards from Kobe Kalama and a 70-yard kickoff return.
Kalama went the distance on a 68-yard run and a 68-yard fumble return. Chayton Johnson tallied the other Quinault touchdown on a 7-yard run.
Dorhofer finished with 165 yards rushing and more than 100 yards receiving. Kalama passed for 230 yards.
The Elks, who finished the game with only nine players, spotted State Deaf the game’s opening touchdown and struggled with penalties throughout the first half. They still led 32-6 at intermission.
The 40-point running-clock mercy rule was implemented midway through the third quarter.
“We ran a spread offense and I think we were a little more athletic and a little faster,” Quinault coach Darren Marshall said. “It worked out really well for having it in for only three days.”
Julio Silva made 15 tackles and Johnson nine for the Elks (2-3).
Lake Quinault is tentatively scheduled to visit King’s Way Christian a week from today.
