Bobcats place three in consolation finals

FEDERAL WAY — Aberdeen wound up with 12th, 13th and 14th-place finishes on the final day of the state 2A swimming & diving championships on Saturday at the King County Aquatics Center.

Although lowering their personal-best time established in Friday’s preliminaries, the Bobcat 200-yard freestyle relay team placed 12th in the consolation finals. The foursome of Naomi Wolfenberger, Keola Holt, Danielle Rowe and Shayna Wilson were clocked in 1:48.51.

Aberdeen’s 400 free relay team of Rowe, Holt, Wilson and Linnea Davison took 13th in 4:05.32, while Amber Rosché was 14th in diving at 2:10.60.

Wilson and Rosché closed out their prep careers at state.

“I felt really good about how the girls did,” Bobcat coach Jan Simons said. “I think next year is looking just as good for us. We should have three good relay teams.”
