Aberdeen mixed martial artist Jeff Hatton will add a bit of international experience to his MMA resume with a trip down to Chile on Saturday.
Hatton (7-2 as a professional) will represent the United States in a USA vs. Chile-themed MMA card for Master Fighers Championship 8 at the Enjoy Casino & Resort in Santiago, Chile.
Hatton, fighting out of Bad Company Mixed Martial Arts of Aberdeen, will take on Chile’s Matias Vasquez in a three-round bantamweight main event bout. There are seven scheduled fights on the card, with Hatton and Vasquez (8-2) being the most experienced fighters featured.
This will be Hatton’s third fight in three months. The Aberdeen High School grad rebounded from his first professional loss in April with a first-round submission (armbar) victory over Brett Boksa in October in Anacortes.
In November, Hatton took on Tony Sanchez at Rumble On The Ridge 26 in Snoqualmie and lost in the second round via submission (arm-triangle choke).
Vasquez will be enjoying home-cage advantage in this fight and a two-match winning streak — both first-round submission victories in Master Fighters Championship cards in June and October.
