GHC to promote cancer awareness

Grays Harbor College’s home basketball doubleheader on Wednesday has been designated as Cancer Awareness Night.

The Chokers will host Pierce College that night, with the women’s game beginning at 6 p.m. and the men to follow at approximately 8.

Donations will be accepted at the gate in lieu of admission. All proceeds from the concession stand that night will benefit the college’s Relay for Life team. Spectators are encouraged to wear pink clothing items.

Choker Crab Feed scheduled

Grays Harbor College’s annual Choker Club crab feed is scheduled for Feb. 15 at the college HUB.

A fundraiser for GHC athletic activities, the dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Unlimited quantities of fresh crab will be the featured dinner item, with spaghetti available for non-crab eaters.

Grays Harbor College sports items will be featured as door prizes and raffle items. Choker athletes and coaches will also be introduced.

Tickets for the the event are currently on sale by phoning the college’s Student Services Office at 538-4066 (weekdays). Reservations are required, since seating is limited to 150.

Admission is $22 for Choker Club members and guests and $10 for children 12 years old and younger. Tickets available at the door will cost $25.
