TACOMA — Montesano will be bidding for its third state football championship when the Bulldogs face Royal in the Class 1A final scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the Tacoma Dome.
The Bulldogs (11-2) won previous 1A titles in 1983 and 1994. Royal (13-0) is bidding for its sixth state championship. The Knights, from Eastern Washington, have won three crowns in the past eight years.
That will be the first of four state championship games today at the Tacoma Dome. Tumwater faces Lynden for the 2A title at 1 p.m., followed by Neah Bay vs. Liberty Christian in the 1B final at 4 p.m. and Skyline vs. Bellarmine Prep in the 4A championship contest at 7:30 p.m.
