Monte routs Rochester


ROCHESTER — Montesano racked up 396 yards of total offense to rout Rochester, 44-7, in Evergreen 1A League play on Friday at Rochester.

Matthew Jensen ran for 11-yard, five-yard and 10-yard touchdowns for the Bulldogs (2-1, 4-2). Tucker Ibabao rushed for six carries for 73 yards and two TDs, one on a pass from Jensen.

Elliot Mendenhall was the leading rusher with nine carries for 76 yards. Shad Rogers ran for a four-yard TD to end the scoring in the third quarter.

Anthony Louthan kicked all of the point-after tries for the Bulldogs and had one interception and a field goal in the first quarter.

Ibabao and Mendenhall were the leading receivers for the Bulldogs with 43 yards and 39 yards respectively.

Jensen, Mendenhall and Drew Helms were the defensive standouts for the Bulldogs.

“We executed well on offense,” said Bulldog head coach Terry Jensen. “We made plays when we had to. We did not play with a lot of emotion, but we made a workman-like effort.”

On Friday, Montesano travels to Tenino for an important league game.
