Postseason play for area Class B teams open this week.
The District IV Class 2B boys and girls tournaments begin Wednesday and Thursday at Montesano and Rochester. These double-elimination thournaments run through Feb. 18, with the top six teams advancing to regional competition (two of the six teams must travel to Eastern Washington for regionals).
The Raymond, South Bend, Pe Ell and Morton/White Pass girls and Raymond, Willapa Valley, Morton/White Pass and Onalaska boys draw first-round byes and play district quarterfinals Saturday.
The North Division 1B playoffs were scheduled to open Thursday. The North River at Wishkah boys game, however, has been shifted to tonight due to schedule conflicts.
The Taholah-Mary M. Knight co-ed doubleheader has been scheduled for Thursday at a neutral site, Aberdeen’s Sam Benn Gym. Lake Quinault will host Oakville in another twin bill Thursday.
Winners of the loser-out divisional 1B playoffs advance to a District IV-V bi-district tourney starting Saturdays at sites to be determined.
At Montesano: 6:30 p.m. — Willapa Valley vs. Wahkiakum. 8 p.m. — Toutle Lake vs. Northwest Christian. At Rochester: 6:30 p.m. — North Beach vs. Napavine. 8 p.m. — Mossyrock vs. Onalaska.
