“Our kids are well-conditioned,” North Beach coach Todd Bridge said. “The big thing in the second half was our kids up out fired up and stayed that way instead of being on an emotional roller-coaster.”

Gonzalez scored both of North Beach’s first-half touchdowns, on a pair of 1-yard runs. Logan Pine, whose family is from the Elma area, scored twice for Olympia.

Bridge cited the play of Cameron Keller and Corwin Siwert in the offensive line and Elijah Towery on defense. He also noted that the Hyaks began joining as a team to sing the alma mater for the first time following the contest.
