Bobcats sweep

LACEY — Hannah Tometich drove in 10 runs for the day as Aberdeen completed a sweep of North Thurston, 13-2 and 22-7, in an Evergreen 2A Conference doubleheader Friday at the RAC Complex in Lacey.

The Bobcats (10-3, 11-3) had 16 hits in the second game and 11 hits in the opener.

Tometich hit a grand slam homer and a two-run triple in the same inning — the fifth inning of the second game. She also excelled behind the plate in both games.

Tometich’s two-run triple ignited the 12-run outburst in the fifth. Mo Donovan added an RBI single. Kayela Onasch, Ku’lei Siolo and Grace Utto-Galarneau each singled. Shannon Glenn hit a two-RBI single and Jocelyn Louthan and Kiana Dixon each got on base to precede Tometich’s grand slam. Donovan followed with a solo home run and Onasch ended the inning with a double.

Siolo also hit a home run for the Bobcats in the third inning.

In the first game, Aberdeen had 11 runs in the first two innings.

“We were excited to hit the ball well and I am proud of the whole team effort,” said Bobcat head coach Bill Tometich. He praised his daughter Hannah for her performance in both games.

On Monday, Aberdeen hosts Tumwater for a doubleheader.
