ADNA — South Bend finished third in the Adna Invitational Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.
Seeded fourth in the eight-team tournament following round-robin pool play, the Indians fell to perennial power Toutle Lake, 25-18, 25-20, in the semifinals.
They downed host Adna, 25-15, 25-20, in the contest to decide third and fourth places.
Willapa Valley failed to advance to the championship semifinals.
South Bend coach Jackie Sanchez was happy with her team’s play against tough competition.
“Every kid played really well,” she reported. “Our team chemistry was top-notch. Our was to get up a lot of balls defensively and we played a lot of balls that normally would have dropped.”
She cited her entire team for fine play.
South Bend travels to Willapa Valley for a Pacific League match Monday.
