Grizzly jayvees beat Elma

Brenner Carlstrom passed for three touchdowns and ran for a fourth as Hoquiam topped Elma, 67-27, in a junior varsity football game Monday at Sea Breeze Oval.

Carlstrom scored on a 14-yard run and teamed up with Rashad Lorton, Tyler White and Vince Tran on TD passes of 20, 40 and 40 yards.

White added scoring runs of 4 and 45 yards, Lorton returned a kickoff 65 yards for another TD, Tahj Malone scored on a 45-yard run and Evan Newton stripped the ball on a kickoff return and ran 40 yards for a touchdown. Maurice Weaver intercepted two passes for the Grizzlies.

Elma’s Ryan Collin threw four touchdown passes.

Bulldog jayvees nip Rochester

Noah Ewing blocked a Rochester field goal attempt in the final two minutes to preserve Montesano’s 14-13 win over the Warriors in a junior varsity football game Monday.

Ewing and Tanner Birdsall scored for the Bulldogs. Riley Olsen intercepted a pass for Monte.

Bobcat jayvees lose in final minute

R.A. Long scored on a 40-yard pass with 40 seconds remaining to beat Aberdeen, 13-6, in a junior varsity football game Monday at Stewart Field.

Aberdeen quarterback Austin Kerrigan scored on a 20-yard run in the third quarter to tie the game at 6-all.

Kerrigan, Jordon Logan, Joel Dublanko, Collin Martin and Garrett Tageant were cited by Bobcat coach Joe Fagerstedt for fine performances.

Guintoli aces at Highland

Ron Giuntoli scored a hole-in-one Oct. 3 at Highland Golf Course.

Giuntoli aced the 130-yard ninth hole, a shot witnessed by Harry Carson, Ed Archie and Carl Evanson. Due to source’s errors, incorrect information on the hole-in-one was included in the Oct. 4 edition.

Poggies to meet Wednesday

The Grays Harbor Poggie Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoquiam Elks Hall.
