Aberdeen-Hoquiam alum game planned

The Aberdeen-Hoquiam alumni basketball game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 22 at Hoquiam Square Garden.

The game is open to all former Bobcat or Grizzly players. Hoquiam coach and event organizer Curtis Eccles is hoping to expand participation to older alumni. If a sufficient response is received, one quarter apiece would be reserved for players who graduated during the 1970s and earlier and those who graduated during the 1980s-90s.

Hooligans to play in West Seattle

The Harbor Hooligans will face the West Seattle Panthers in the quarterfinals of the state U-12 boys Recreational Cup youth soccer tournament on Sunday at West Seattle.

The game will begin at 11 a.m. The field is located at 2700 California Ave., S.W.

Hyak football players honored

Pedro Gonzalez received the Doug Dreeszen Fortitude Award at the North Beach High School football awards banquet recently at the Ocean Shores Lions Club.

Carson Ketter took the Black Lion Award which is offered by numerous high schools, Kansas State University and the U.S. Military Academy.

North Beach coach Todd Bridge thanked parents for providing team meals and their support throughout the season.

Junior high league set for Raymond

Registration is being accepted for Raymond’s junior high girls basketball league that begins in January.

The league is open to seventh and eighth-grade girls teams, including combined squads. If there is sufficient registration, two divisions will be offered.

Games will be played Sundays at the Raymond high school and junior high gyms. Each team will play twice per day, beginning Jan. 6.

The league is limited to the first 12 teams to register. The registration fee is $300 per team and $500 for those entering two teams.

Hoquiam Girls Fastpitch Assoc. meeting Sunday

The Hoquiam Girls Fastpitch Association will host a board meeting at 6 p.m. Sunday at Gable Field.
