GHC softball workout camp scheduled

Grays Harbor College will host a softball workout camp on Sunday at the college gym and fitness lab.

The camp is designed to promote physical conditioning for softball players of all ages. It will consist of cardio circuit training, running, stretching, stair training and other ab exercises. Grays Harbor College coaches and players will conduct the camp.

Sessions are planned for 11 a.m. for players under 12 years of age, 12:30 p.m. for those in the 12-U through 14-U classifications and 2 p.m. for players over 14.

The fee is $10, with proceeds donated to the Grays Harbor College Relay for Life cancer prevention and treatment team. Registration and other information may be obtained by contacting Choker coach Tom Sutera at 538-2506 or via email at tsutera@ghc.edu.

Elma girls javyees finish unbeaten

The Elma High School girls junior varsity basketball team recently completed a 19-0 season, including two victories over varsity teams. Its average victory margin was 31 points per game.

Coached by Bryan Schneider, the team consisted of Maddie Thompson, Lauren Thompson, Aspen Thompson, Jordaan Hall, Conley Doyle, Bethany Lipska, Paige Kershaw, Amanda Pearson and Kaytlyn Reed.

Oaksridge opening day slated

The opening day of Oaksridge Golf Club Men’s Club play is set for Feb. 23.

This season’s events will begin with a four-man scramble tournament, starting at 9 a.m. The tourney is open to active and prospective men’s club members. Further information may be obtained by contacting the Oaksridge pro shop at 482-3511.
