Elma Little League tryouts billed

Elma Little League tryouts are scheduled for this week at the 10th Street Park.

Tryouts for boys and girls in the 8-10 age group are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Those in the 11-12 age group may try out at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Unregistered players are asked to show up at least 15 minutes prior to the tryout. Arrangements can be made for players seeking financial assistance.

Aberdeen track fund-raising meet set

The Bobcat Friends and Family Track Meet, a fund-raiser for the Aberdeen High School track team, is scheduled for 10 a.m. March 9 at the Miller Junior High Track.

The event will allow community members to compete in an assortment of track and field events, with even a 4x100-meter relay offered. Members of the Aberdeen High track team will also be on hand.

All participants will be entered in a drawing for prizes at the end of the meet. Order forms for shirts and other items will be available.

The entry fee is $15 for participants and $5 for spectators. Further information will be available by contacting Sherrie Green at 580-2339.

Archery tourney due this weekend

The Grays Harbor Bowmen will open its season with the Bucks and Bulls 3-D Archery Tournament scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the club range seven miles southwest of Aberdeen on Highway 105.

Participants will shoot at 42 targets each day. Registration is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday. Two-day shooters will be eligible for trophies based on total score.
