Troxell wins six-game singles tourney

Ricky Troxell won the Grays Harbor Bowling Association’s Six-Game Singles Tournament recently at Viking Bowl in Westport. Troxell finished with a handicap total of 1,436. Annalee Ogle was second with 1,424, Bill Mabe third with 1,400, Ken Simon fourth with 1,383 and Lawrence Spencer fifth with 1,375. Jim Micus bowled a perfect 300 game, while Brian Morley had the high scratch series of 1,347.

Girls softball clinics due in Montesano

The first of two preseason softball clinics hosted by the Montesano Girls Softball Association is scheduled for Sunday. Conducted by Grays Harbor College players and coaches, the first clinic is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Montesano Junior High gym. It is open to players of all skill levels, ages 4 through 18.

The second clinic is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. March 10, also at the Montesano Junior High gym. Also open to players of all skill levels in the 4-18 age group, this clinic will be conducted by Montesano High School coaches and players. The fee is $25 for one clinic and $40 for both. Reservations are required and must be received by 5 p.m. Friday. Registration information may be obtained via email at president@montegsa.org.
