No racing at Elma on Saturday

The program originally scheduled for Saturday at Grays Harbor Raceway has been canceled, track officials announced.

The cancelation was due to conflicts with East County events and a major race in Yakima. It will be replaced by another program on Oct. 6.

Grays Harbor Raceway’s season championship event is planned for Sept. 29.

Smoke forces Central

game to be moved

Due to hazardous air quality in Ellensburg, from numerous wildfires burning in the area, Central Washington University has moved its Saturday football game against Azusa Pacific University from Ellensburg to the Seattle suburb of Bothell, in what would have been the school’s home opener. A Friday night high school game between Wenatchee and Eastmont was moved to Moses Lake.
