Baltazar fundraiser planned

A fundraising fun run in support of Aberdeen High School cross country standout Poli Baltazar is scheduled for 11 a.m. Nov. 24 at Makarenko Park in Cosmopolis.

The runner-up in the state high school 2A meet earlier this month, Baltazar received an invitation to compete in the Foot Locker Western Regionals championship Dec. 1 at Walnut, Calif. Proceeds from the run, sponsored by the Aberdeen Cross Country Supporters, will be used to defray his expenses for the meet.

The event will include a 5-kilometer run, a 1-mile run and a 1-mile walk. The run will be conducted regardless of weather conditions.

Registration will be accepted beginning at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $15 per race. Donations will also be accepted.

Further information may be obtained by contacting Lynndsie Green at (360) 580-5365.
