Aberdeen, Hoquiam in

soccer doubleheader

Aberdeen’s and Hoquiam’s boys soccer teams will be seeking state berths when they play in a district doubleheader today at Aberdeen’s Stewart Field.

The Grizzlies take on Toledo/Winlock in a winner-to-state contest in the District IV Class 1A tourney at 4 p.m. The winner will play a state seeding game Thursday at Kalama, while the loser is eliminated.

The Bobcats face Hockinson in the semifinals of the district 2A tourney at 7 p.m. The winner clinches a state berth and will face either Ridgefield or Mark Morris for the district championship Thursday. The loser will play a loser-out contest Thursday.

Choker Club golf tourney due

Grays Harbor College’s annual Choker Club Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday at Grays Harbor Country Club.

The four-person scramble tourney begins at 11 a.m., with registration planned for 10:30. The registration fee of $60 per player includes green fees, prizes and a post-round barbecue.

Poggies to meet Wednesday

A Grays Harbor Poggie Club meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoquiam Elks Hall.
