Ladies Night due at Grays Harbor Raceway

Ladies Night will be celebrated Saturday at Grays Harbor Raceway at Elma.

In recognition of Mother’s Day, all women will be admitted for the reduced price of $5. Racing will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Competition will be in the modified, street stocks and hornet classification. In addition, the Northwest Extreme Winged Sprints will make its season debut.

This will be the first of eight races at Elma for the newly created winged sprints classification. It is expected to draw racers that normally run at Skagit Speedway in Washington and Cottage Grove and Sunset speedways in Oregon, which have the same rules packages.

GH Bearcats on road Saturday

The Grays Harbor Bearcats will begin a two-game road trip by visiting the Portland Monarchs in a Pacific Football League contest Saturday. The kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Bearcats travel to Bellingham on May 18 and will be idle on Memorial Day weekend. Their next home game will be June 1 against the Southern Oregon Renegades.

Aberdeen parent-athlete meeting due

Aberdeen High School’s parent and athlete information meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. May 21 at the Aberdeen High School auditorium.

The meeting will include information on paperwork needed to play at the high school level and the impact test required for incoming freshmen. Following a general meeting, athletes and their parents will split into groups to meet with the appropriate fall sports coach.
