Crowell earns all-tournament in bowling

Perry Crowell IV, Midland University bowler from Hoquiam, earned all-tournament honors in a pair of college bowling tourneys recently.

Crowell finished third in singles in the Midwest Collegiate Tournament Oct. 6 at Wauwatosa, Wis. He averaged 224 for nine games.

He also received all-tourney recognition with a fifth-place finish in the Mid-State Tournament last weekend in Wichita, Kan. He averaged 204 as Midland placed fourth in the team competition.

Monte Little League plans work party

A Montesano Little League work party is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson Field.

Volunteers will be asked to remove signs and picnic tables, plus other projects, league president Steve Bove reported.

Carson aces at Oaksridge

Mike Carson of Central Park scored his fourth hole-in-one Thursday at Oaksridge Golf Course.

Carson used a 4-iron to ace the 161-yard ninth hole. Barney Karr and Terry Burgess were the witnesses.
