Bobcat track fund-raiser due today

The Bobcat Friends and Family track meet, a fund-raiser for the Aberdeen High School track program, is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the Miller Junior High track.

The event allows younger students and adults to compete alongside the Aberdeen High track team in selected events. All participants will be entered in a drawing for prizes at the end of the meet.

The entry fee for participants is $15. Spectator admission is $5. Proceeds will go to the Aberdeen High track program.

Quinault baseball fund-raiser set

Lake Quinault High School’s barbecue rib and oyster feed — an annual fund-raiser for the Elks baseball team — is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the school.

Proceeds from the all-you-can-eat meal will go to the Quinault baseball program and will partially finance this spring’s trip to Georgia and Florida. The meal costs $12 for adults and students 13 years of age or older and $8 for senior citizens and children in the 6-12 age group. Children 5 and under will be admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.

AHS varsity-alumni soccer billed tonight

Aberdeen High School’s annual varsity-alumni male soccer match is scheduled for today at Stewart Field.

The contest begins at 7 p.m., with admission free. Aberdeen’s varsity match with Hoquiam, originally scheduled for tonight, has been shifted to March 23 at Stewart Field.

Rec Basketball exhibition on tap

First Division champion PASHA/Casa Mia/UPX will take on a Third Division all-star team in an Aberdeen Parks & Recreation Department exhibition basketball game Thursday at Robert Gray Elementary School.

The Third Division all-star team is composed of Jesse Corbett, Jimmy McDaniel, Eric Dayton, Jerry Cole, Jeremy Plummer, Travis Pence, Nick Tuengel, Jason Kelley and Andy Burton.
