Reynvaan Run due Saturday

The Jack Reynvaan Memorial Run, a traditional feature of the Loggers Playday celebration, is scheduled for Saturday in Hoquiam.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. at the Hoquiam High School track (Sea Breeze Oval). It includes a 2-mile walk and 2-mile, 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer runs.

Registration runs from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The entry fee is $5.

Montesano-Woodland football scheduled

The Woodland-Montesano football game, originally planned for Sept. 27, has been rescheduled for Sept. 26 at Aberdeen’s Stewart Field, Montesano athletic director Tim Trimble reported.

Montesano will use Stewart Field as its home field while Rottle Field grandstand renovation is being completed. A change in dates was necessary due to a conflict with an Aberdeen High home game on Sept. 27.

Aberdeen tennis, x-country fundraisers set

The End of Summer Open, a fundraising tournament sponsored by the Aberdeen High School boys tennis team, is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at the Sam Benn Courts.

Competition is scheduled in singles and doubles. The entry fee is $10 per player. Further information may be obtained by contacting Andy Duffy at 538-3150.

The Bobcat Fun Run, a fundraiser for the Aberdeen High cross country team, is also planned for Saturday at Makarenko Park in Cosmopolis.

The event begins at 10 a.m. with a 1-mile run/walk. A 5-kilometer run will follow. Prizes will be awarded after the races.

Parkway repeats as pool champ

The Parkway Tavern of Aberdeen captured its third successive title in the Grays Harbor Mixed Doubles Pool League this summer.

The Parkway twice edged the Northwest Passage, 8-5 and 8-7, in the title round. Team members included captains Mike Troupe and Candy Knutson, Pat Beaty, Brenda Grigsby, Taco Jimenez, Kathy Underwood, Tim Arnold, Tiffany Murray, Ron Callaghan, Patsy Elders, Doug Knutson, Mary Callaghan, Kevin McKibben and Dawn Mason.

Aberdeen Little League board meeting set

The annual Aberdeen Little League board of directors meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. Sept. 22 at the meeting room above the concession stand at Failor Field.

Montesano High School football games will be streamed live this season by the Montesano Today online service. Games may be viewed live at

Bombers schedule softball tryouts

The Hoquiam VFW Bombers fastpitch softball teams have scheduled tryouts for Sunday at John Gable Park in Hoquiam.

The 10-U and 12-U teams will try out from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tryouts in the 14-U and 16-U teams are planned from 1 to 3 p.m.

Benefit golf tourney planned

The Makin’ Miracles for Mary Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sept. 14 at Highland Golf Course.

The four-person scramble tourney begins at 9 a.m. Registration is planed for 8 a.m.
