Beavers 26, Gulls 7
RAYMOND — Tenino racked up 317 yards of total offense and rolled past Raymond in a non-league game Friday night at Raymond.
Carte Bisbee’s a 77-yard kickoff return in the second quarter led to Raymond’s lone touchdown, an Andrew Hamilton run in from the 1-yard line. Hamilton also kicked the PAT.
Hamilton was the leading rusher for the Gulls (0-1) for 42 yards and one TD. He also added a tackle.
Bisbee had 11 tackles and one interception.
“Our guys were resilient and handled adversity well,” said Raymond coach Rob Clements. “We just didn’t execute well.”
“Tenino did a good job,” Clements added. “That is a team with a lot of good athletes. We were able to keep the game close early. We just cost ourselves (the game) by not being able to execute on offense. The defense played really well. Our offense couldn’t get it done against them tonight. Next week, we have Charles Wright. They’re a tough opponent and we’re going to test ourselves again.”
