Two Bobcats place at R.A. Long

LONGVIEW — A short-handed Aberdeen squad placed at two weights in the R.A. Long Lumberjack Classic on Saturday.

Freshman Kohl Levao was second at 285 pounds. He was pinned by Centralia’s Alex Daarud in the championship match.

Aberdeen’s Connor Horton took third at 120 pounds, scoring a second-round pin over R.A. Long’s Seth Conary in the match to determine third and fourth places.

The Bobcats took only seven wrestlers to the tourney, due to a combination of illness, match limitations and other commitments.

“Very short-handed and all first-year wrestlers,” Bobcat coach Chuck Veloni said.

The Bobcats visit Capital on Wednesday.
