SEATTLE — Leroy Hill had his bail hearing Thursday in King County Superior Court. Hill waived his right to appear at the hearing, and his bail was set at $150,000.
Hill remained in King County Jail as of 5 p.m. The King County prosecutor’s office has until today to decide whether it will pursue charges against the 30-year-old Seattle Seahawks linebacker.
Hill is scheduled to appear in court again today.
According to the probable-cause report filed on Thursday, Hill is being held on suspicion of the domestic violence offenses of unlawful imprisonment and third-degree assault.
According to the report, Hill’s girlfriend indicated that Hill asked her for a set of keys midmorning Tuesday at his Issaquah house, and then he became angry because it took her too long to find the keys.
She said that he shoved her twice, the second time causing her to fall.
She then reported that Hill grabbed her by the wrists, picked her up off the floor and threw her across the room.
According to the report, she said Hill stood on her chest and head during the incident, making it difficult for her to breathe. Hill’s girlfriend also said she “thought she was going to die.”
According to the report, Hill struck her numerous times with a bottle of alcohol from which he was drinking. Hill’s girlfriend also said he struck her using a closed fist 15 to 20 times from 10:30 a.m. until the time she escaped to call police at 4:02 p.m.
Officers noticed bruising on the woman’s shins, and officers also remarked that her wrists and ankles were swollen.
The woman told police she was restrained from leaving Hill’s residence for most of the day and had her cellphone taken by Hill. The statement also said Hill used a knife to cut up two of the woman’s purses and a pair of shoes.
Hill, interviewed by police, told them his girlfriend assaulted him several times because of jealousy. Hill told police that she scratched him, and also had struck his arms with a small wooden rod.
