Duke 73, Albany 61

PHILADELPHIA — Seth Curry scored 26 points and Mason Plumlee contributed 23 with eight rebounds, as Duke fended off a scrappy Albany squad with a 73-61 victory in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Ryan Kelly added eight points and six boards for Duke (28-5), which is making its 18th straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Blue Devils, seeded second in the Midwest Region, will play Creighton in the third round Sunday.

Ole Miss 57, Wisconsin 46

KANSAS CITY — Marshall Henderson scored 19 points and Ole Miss defeated Wisconsin, 57-46. Henderson shot only 6-of-21 from the field, including 3-of-12 from behind the arc, for Ole Miss (27-8), which made its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2002. The Rebels, who will face La Salle in a West Region third-round matchup on Sunday.

La Salle 63, Kansas State 61

KANSAS CITY — Jerrell Wright made three free throws in the final 30 seconds to lift La Salle to a 63-61 win over Kansas State. Wright had 21 points on a perfect 6-for-6 from the field and was 9-for-10 from the foul line for the Explorers (23-9).

Creighton 67, Cincinnati 63

PHILADELPHIA — Doug McDermott scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, as the Creighton Bluejays slipped past the Cincinnati Bearcats. Gregory Echenique had 13 points with seven rebounds for the Bluejays (28-7), who will next play Duke in the third round Sunday.

Temple 76, N.C. State 72

DAYTON, Ohio — Khalif Wyatt scored 31 points and led Temple to a win over North Carolina State. Jake O’Brien scored 18 points and Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson added 12 for the Owls (24-9). Temple, the ninth seed in the East Region, will face top- seeded Indiana in the third round on Sunday.

Indiana 83, James Madison 62

DAYTON, Ohio — Yogi Ferrell had his coming-out party in the NCAA Tournament, with the freshman guard tallying 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists to help top-seeded Indiana to a dominating victory over James Madison. Ferrell netted 14 of his points in the game’s opening 5 1/2 minutes to enable the Hoosiers (28-6) to build a double-digit lead they never relinquished and easily advance into a matchup with ninth-seeded Templ.

Miami 78, Pacific 49

AUSTIN, Texas — Durand Scott led the way with 21 points and Shane Larkin chipped in 10 with nine assists, as the Miami Hurricanes breezed through the Pacific Tigers. Miami (28-6) looked ready and raring to go in its first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2008. The Hurricanes will take on Illinois on Sunday.

Illinois 57, Colorado 49

AUSTIN, Texas — Brandon Paul and D.J. Richardson made shots when it counted as Illinois survived an ugly shooting performance and a furious second-half Colorado comeback. Tracy Abrams added 13 points with six assists for the Illini.

Ohio State 95, Iona 70

DAYTON, Ohio — Deshaun Thomas scored 24 points, and Ohio State (27-7) pulled away in the second half to beat Iona. Ohio State will play No. 10 seed Iowa State on Sunday.

North Carolina 78, Villanova 71

KANSAS CITY — P.J. Hairston poured in a game-high 23 points and North Carolina head coach Roy Williams earned his 700th win, as the Tar Heels held off Villanova. James Michael McAdoo followed with 17 points for the Tar Heels (25-10), who will face top-seeded Kansas on Sunday.

Florida 79, Northwestern St. 47

AUSTIN, Texas — Erik Murphy scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Florida used a strong second half to cruise past Northwestern State. Patric Young scored 16 points and grabbed nine boards for the third-seeded Gators (27-7), who move on to face Minnesota in Sunday’s third round.

Iowa State 76, Notre Dame 58

DAYTON, Ohio — Freshman Georges Niang scored 19 points and Melvin Ejim added 17 as Iowa State blew out Notre Dame. The 10th-seeded Cyclones (23-11) will take on No. 2 seed Ohio State on Sunday.

Kansas 64, W. Kentucky 57

KANSAS CITY — Jeff Withey posted 17 points, seven blocks and six rebounds as Kansas snuck past 16th-seeded Western Kentucky. Travis Releford and Ben McLemore each had 11 points for the Jayhawks (30-5), who will take on No. 8 seed North Carolina on Sunday.

San Diego State 70, Oklahoma 55

PHILADELPHIA — Jamaal Franklin posted 21 points and eight rebounds as San Diego State prevailed over Oklahoma on Friday. James Rahon had 17 points while Chase Tapley added 10 points for the seventh- seeded Aztecs (23-11), who will next play 15th seed Florida Gulf Coast.

Minnesota 86, UCLA 63

AUSTIN, Texas — Andre Hollins had a game-high 28 points and made 5-of-8 shots from behind the arc to go along with nine rebounds as Minnesota outlasted UCLA on Friday. Austin Hollins followed with 16 points and seven assistsfor the 11th-seeded Gophers (21-12), who advance to Sunday’s third round to face third-seeded Florida.
