What’s allowed and what’s banned under the new NFL screening regulations

The NFL will limit the size and type of bags that may be brought into league stadiums this season.

The measure was put in place to enhance safety inside and outside the stadium and speed the security screening process for all NFL fans.

There are no limitations on tailgating items.

Here is a sample of items that are permissible under the new measure:

• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12 inches x 6 inches by 12 inches.

• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).

• Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bag options.

• Binoculars or a phone or camera can be carried into the stadium so long as they are not in their own bag.

• Purses larger than a clutch bag

• Coolers
