GHC to sponsor all-star hoop game

Some of the top senior high school basketball players in the Twin Harbors will face their South Sound counterparts in all-star games sponsored by Grays Harbor College next month.

The Senior Showdown is planned for April 13 at Aberdeen’s Sam Benn Gym. The girls game is planned for 6 p.m., with the boys game to follow at approximately 8 p.m.

Twin Harbors all-star boys and girls teams will face all-star clubs from Thurston and Mason counties in the doubleheader, organized by Grays Harbor College athletic director Tyler Gaston and co-sponsored by the GHC athletic department and the Choker Club.

While rosters have yet to be formalized, Gaston said he envisions them at numbering approximately 10 players per gender. Admission will be $5. Futher information may be obtained by contacting Gaston at 538-4207.

Aberdeen-Hoquiam softball postponed

The Aberdeen-Hoquiam softball game, scheduled for Saturday at the Bishop Athletic Complex, was postponed due to rain and wet grounds.

No makeup date was immediately announced.

Raymond’s Bisbee aids in all-star win

Raymond High School senior Carte Bisbee scored eight points and handed out several assists as the Class 2B all-stars beat their 1B counterparts, 94-89, in the WIBCA all-state all-star boys basketball game Saturday at Curtis High School in Tacoma.

Bisbee was the lone Twin Harbors participant in the contest.
