Two Grays Harbor College players earn top honors in all-division team


Grays Harbor College’s Amanda Anderson and Jill Johnson received major honors on the all-NWAACC Western Division softball team.

Anderson, who batted .517 with 14 home runs and 56 runs batted in during the regular season, received the division’s Most Valuable Player award.

Johnson, who led the entired NWAACC conference in strikeouts, earned division Pitcher of the Year honors.

They joined Choker catcher Jasmine Gilmore on the 16-player first team. Centralia infielder Elissa Mendenhall, a Montesano High School graduate, also recived all-division recognition.

Pierce’s Mark Edmonston was voted by his peers as the division’s Coach of the Year.

The Western Division all-stars:
