Elma’s Camenzind earns all-state nod
Elma pitcher-shortstop Nick Camenzind received second-team recognition on the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association’s all-state Class 1A baseball team announced recently.
Camenzind, a senior, was the lone Harborite included on either the first or second team.
Harborites named to 1A softball team
Brooke Goldsmith, who pitched and help bat Elma to the state 1A softball championship last month, received Most Valuable Player honors from that tournament.
Elma’s Izzy Cristelli and Sydney Smythe were also named to the all-tournament first team, as was Hoquiam’s Kayla Hilliard and Bailee Bradley.
Hoquiam’s Ellie Quercia and Montesano’s Megtan Choate earned second-team status, while Elma’s Karli Smythe, Shayla Shumate and Peyton Elliott and Montesano’s Hannah Jensen received honorable mention recognition.
