Aberdeen dominates Capital on Senior Night, 66-6

Aberdeen honored 11 seniors prior to Wednesday’s final Evergreen 2A wrestling dual meet at Sam Benn Gym, then went out and secured five match victories by pin en route to a 66-6 win over Capital.

The Bobcats honored seniors Ali Morris, Erikk Machowek, Tristen Jimenez, Kolby Shelton, Tavo Sanchez, Lisa Rounsivill, Jordon Logan, Kaylee Nguyen, Alexis Miranda, Drew Stocker and foreign exchange student Blanca Aguila.

Aberdeen received five match wins by forfeit and won both of the closest matches of the night. At 195, Ben Tupper edged out Nick Wolf, 12-11. At 285, Jordon Logan dominated Angus Beaton, 7-3.

“The (dual meet) went about as planned,” AHS head coach Chock Veloni said. “(Ben) Tupper had a good match, one of his smarter matches of the season. Jordon got a little more of a battle than he wanted, but he stepped up and wrestled hard.”

Today, Aberdeen hits the road to take on Chehalis in another league dual meet.
