Two East County teams earned seeded berths while Hoquiam will also try to advance to the main draw when the District IV Class 1A Girls Basketball Tournament opens next week.
The Grizzlies will face White Salmon in a loser-out district-qualifying contest Monday night at Montesano. The winner will advance to the main draw of the tourney beginning Thursday.
Evergreen 1A League champion Montesano and runner-up Elma have already qualified for the double-elimination portion of the tourney. They’ll open district program on the same program Thursday at Chehalis.
The tournament runs through Feb. 21. The top three teams earn regional berths.
Due to weather-related postponements, the district boys draw has yet to be finalized and will be reported in Tuesday’s Daily World.
Montesano is tentatively scheduled to face Toledo in a district-qualifying game at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Montesano. Hoquiam and Elma earned the Evergreen 1A League’s two seeded berths and will begin play Friday at Centralia.

At Montesano: 6:30 p.m. — Hoquiam vs. White Salmon (loser out). 8 p.m. — Rochester vs. Stevenson (loser out).
At Castle Rock: 6:30 p.m. — La Center vs. Forks (loser out). 8 p.m. — Ilwaco vs. Rainier (loser out).
At Chehalis: 6:30 p.m. — Elma vs. winner La Center-Forks. 8 p.m. — Montesano vs. winner Rainier-Ilwaco.
At Kelso: 6:30 p.m. — Kalama vs. winner Rochester-Stevenson. 8 p.m. — Woodland vs. winner Hoquiam-White Salmon.
