Little League tournaments on tap

Postseason Little League tournaments begin this weekend in Elma and Tenino.

The District III 9-10 Tournament of Champions opens today at Elma. The 11-12 Tournament of Champions also starts today at Tenino. Those tourneys are for players who are not on the district all-star teams.

State berths will be on the line in three other tournaments that will begin at later dates.

Montesano’s Nelson Field will be the site for the District III 11-12 Major League Tournament that opens June 28. The tourney is scheduled to run through July 3. If a second championship game is required in the double-elimination tournament, it will be played July 5.

The district 9-10 all-star tournament will run concurrently at Aberdeen’s Failor Field. The district 10-11 tourney opens July 5 at Centralia.

9 a.m. — Chehalis vs. South Beach. 11 a.m. — Willapa Harbor vs. Larch Mountain. 1:30 p.m. — Aberdeen vs. Capitol. 3:30 p.m. — Montesano vs. Elma.


10 a.m. — Centralia vs. winner South Beach-Chehalis. Noon — Loser Willapa Harbor-Larch Mountain vs. loser Aberdeen-Capitol (loser out).

11-12 T of C

At Tenino


Noon — Centralia A vs. Chehalis. 2 p.m. — Montesano vs. South Beach. 4 p.m. — Aberdeen vs. Centralia B. 6:30 p.m. — Patriot vs. Larch Mountain.

District 9-10

June 28

10:30 a.m. — Aberdeen vs. Larch Mountain. 12:30 p.m. — Montesano vs. Patriot. 3 p.m. — Capitol vs. Centralia.

June 29

Noon — Chehalis vs. winner Aberdeen-Larch Mountain. 2 p.m. — Loser Montesano-Patriot vs. Loser Capitol-Centralia (loser out). 4:30 p.m. — Winner Montesano-Patriot vs. winner Capitol-Centralia.
