State football semifinals set for this weekend

Fifth-ranked Raymond (9-1) will face top-rated Morton/White Pass in a state Class 2B football semifinal scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Tacoma Dome.

The winner will advance to the state championship game at 4 p.m. Dec. 7, also at the Tacoma Dome.

Adna, the third Southwest Washington team to advance to the 2B semis, will travel east of the mountains for the second time in three weeks. The unranked Pirates will take on second-ranked Lind-Ritzville/Sprague at 4 p.m. Saturday at Moses Lake.

The Tacoma Dome will host five semifinals — one less than usual — on Friday and Saturday.

Both 2A semis are scheduled for Eastern Washington. Prosser, which was seeded into the Western Washington half of the bracket, won both its west-side playoff appearances and thus earned the choice of fields for its semifinal with Tumwater. That game is set for Saturday at Pasco’s Edgar Brown Stadium.
