Montesano doubles team named SWW 1A League doubles MVPs


Montesano’s April Easter and Katie Ayres received the Most Valuable Player awards for doubles on the all-Southwest Washington 1A League Girls Tennis Team.

Easter and Ayres went unbeaten through the regular season and district, capturing the district 1A title.

Castle Rock’s Faith Stein earned the singles MVP award. Castle Rock’s Kim Karnofski was chosen for the league’s Coach of the Year award.

The Southwest Washington all-stars:

SINGLES

MVP — Faith Stein, Castle Rock.

First Team — Jasmine Nesbitt, King’s Way Christian. Ali Jo Vens, Tenino.

Second Team — Hailey Holmgren, Tenino. Mikalya LaFontaine, Castle Rock.

DOUBLES

MVP — April Easter-Katie Ayres, Montesano.

First Team — Erin Engebreth-Natalie Hall, Tenino; Alexis Everett-Elsie Martinez, Castle Rock.

Second Team — Elizabeth Taborski-Bailey Malizia, Montesano; Marissa Cloke-Tiffany Tomlin, Castle Rock.
