Pairing set for district 1B boys, girls basketball tournaments


Pairings have been set for the District IV Class 1A boys and girls basketball tournaments that begin Saturday.

Loser-out first-round contests are planned Saturday at the site of the highest-seeded teams. Wishkah’s boys and Taholah’s and Mary M. Knight’s girls have been seeded into semifinals Monday at Castle Rock.

Both tournaments will conclude Feb. 22 at Montesano, with the top three boys teams and top two girls clubs earning state berths.

Pairings:

BOYS

Saturday

5 p.m. — Lake Quinault at Three Rivers Christian (loser out). 5 p.m. — Firm Foundation at Taholah (loser out). 7:45 p.m. — Oakville at Columbia Adventist (loser out).

Monday

At Castle Rock: 2:30 p.m. — Winner Taholah-Firm Foundation vs. winner Lake Quinault-Three Rivers Christian (winner to state). 5:30 p.m. — Wishkah vs. winner Oakville-Columbia Adventist (winner to state).

GIRLS

Saturday

3 p.m. — Lake Quinault at Three Rivers Christian (loser out). 6:15 p.m. — Oakville at Columbia Adventist (loser out).

Monday

At Castle Rock: 1 p.m. — Taholah vs. winner Lake Quinault-Three Rivers Christian (winner to state, loser out). 4 p.m. — Mary M. Knight vs. winner Oakville-Columbia Adventist (winner to state, loser out).
