WESTPORT — Peter Turcan and Egor Klevak of Seattle piloted a double high-performance kayak to victory in the 19th annual Elk River Challenge on Saturday on the Elk River Estuary west of Westport.
Turcan and Klevak covered the traditional 7-mile course in 1-hour and 55 seconds.
Perry Graham of Clackamas, Ore., in a sea kayak, took the 3-mile Little Elk race in 47:49.
The event was open to all human-powered watercraft. Eighteen boaters competed on each course.
