Bearcats host preseason test tonight

The Grays Harbor Bearcats will host their final preseason football game when they face the Portland Raiders in a semi-pro football match-up tonight at Stewart Field. The kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Bearcats lost their exhibition debut to the Portland Monarchs, but have added players to their roster since that contest. The Raiders routed the Renton Ravens, 54-6, in their first preseason game.

Grays Harbor opens Pacific Football League play on April 26 at home against the Yakima Mavericks.

Aberdeen LL plans outing to Tacoma Rainiers game

Aberdeen Little League is offering tickets to a Tacoma Rainiers Pacific Coast League baseball game on May 2.

The Rainiers will face Las Vegas in a 7 p.m. game. Little League teams in unform will parade around the field prior to the contest, with a post-game fireworks display planned.

Reserved-seat tickets cost $15, including a meal (hot dog, snack and soft drink). A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Aberdeen Little League program.

Ocean Shores senior golf league meeting set

The Ocean Shores Senior Nine-Hole Men’s Golf League has scheduled its opening meeting for 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ocean Shores Golf Course.

The league is open to all men 55 years of age and older. Further information may be obtained by contacting Bob Grimstad at 289-5168.

Country Club Field Day completed

Ron Scott took the gross competition and Carl Sperring net honors in Grays Harbor Country Club’s annual golf Field Day recently.

Final results: Gross — Ron Scott 75, Tom Weber 76. Net — Carl Sperring 66, Mikko Koski 69, Mike Sand 70, Jeff Fairchild 70. KP — Ron Russell.
