Crowell wins Las Vegas singles bowling

Hoquiam High School graduate Perry Crowell IV, a senior at Midland University in Nebraska, captured the singles championship in the Las Vegas Collegiate Shootout bowling tournament recently.

He averaged more than 241 in the shootout and helped Midland win the team title.

Averaging 219.5, Crowell is ranked third in the nation in collegiate bowling. He has made the all-tournament team in six of the eight tournaments in which he has competed.

Aberdeen’s Dublanko honored

Aberdeen sophomore Joel Dublanko was named to an state high school all-underclassman football teams selected by Ryland Spencer of the Northwest Elite Index online service.

Dublanko was chosen as a first-team linebacker on the all-classification team. He was the lone Twin Harbors player included on the first three teams.
