All-county track, all-star basketball due today

The Ray Ryan Memorial Grays Harbor All-County track meet is scheduled for today at Elma.

Field events are scheduled for 11 a.m., with running events at 3:30 p.m.

The annual Senior Showdown basketball all-star games sponsored by Grays Harbor College is scheduled for today at Aberdeen’s Sam Benn Gym.

The Twin Harbors all-stars will face their South Sound counterparts in a coed doubleheader. The girls game is scheduled for 4 p.m., with the men’s contest to follow at 6.

Collin earns Elma MVP award

Senior guard Ryan Collin received the Most Valuable Player award at the Elma High School boys basketball awards banquet recently.

Defensive MVP — Ray Stark. Rebounder of Year — Chance Bremer. Most Improved — Devon Gilman. Inspirational — Tyson Nauman. Coaches Award — Kai Hamilton. Captains — Ryan Collin and Chance Bremer. All-Defensive Team — Ray Stark, Rashad Lorton, Seth Osgood, Wyatt Gray, Liam Baxter. JV MVP — Kolton Emerson. JV Inspirational — Andrew Palmer. JV Most Improved — Colin Hook. C Squad MVP — A.J. Brown. C Squad Leadership — David Jones.

Fundraising dodgeball tourney set

A dodgeball tournament that is a fundraiser for the Aberdeen High School boys soccer team is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at the Miller Junior High gym.

The tourney is open to five-person teams of all ages. Admission will be $3 per person, with pizza and other concessions available. All proceeds will go to the Aberdeen High School soccer program.

The registration fee of $25 per team is payable (along with a listing of players) to Bobcat coach Larry Fleming at Miller Junior High (100 E. Lindstrom St.). The registration deadline is Wednesday.
