Lifetime Elma resident Ernest Eugene Van Orman passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. He was 87. Ernest was born on Feb. 2, 1930, to Melvin and Josephine (Nichol) Van Orman.

After graduating from Elma High School, Home of the Eagles, he was employed with Simpson Timber Company.

He is survived by his children Danny Van Orman of Malone, Davin Van Orman of Elma, Donald Van Orman of Elma, and Susan Bailey of Elma. Along with eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was laid to rest at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Elma, Wash.
