Trail Band to present holiday concert in Raymond

“A Trail Band Holiday” has been performed annually since its inception in 1994.

The Trail Band will perform its annual holiday program next week at the Raymond Theater.

“A Trail Band Holiday” has been performed annually since its inception in 1994. It was originally produced as a television special for Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Marv and Rindy Ross (of Quarterflash and Seafood Mama fame) make up the core of the eight-member band, joined by virtuoso violinist Eddie Parente.

The Trail Band members joining them for this special holiday concert are:

Cal Scott, the band’s musical director, will play cornet, mandolin and guitar. Scott also has composed the scores to more than 40 Public Broadcasting Service documentaries.

Mike Doherty plays the hammer dulcimer, as well as electric and string brass. He also performs as a musician and storyteller with Oregon Shadow Theatre.

Phil and Gail Neuman are proficient with a wide variety of instruments. Gayle plays violin, flageolet and trombone, while Phil plays tuba, cornet, bagpipe, recorder and pennywhistle. The duo also leads the Oregon Renaissance Band.

Percussionist Dan Stuber provides the beat for the Trail Band. He also has performed with the Flying Karamazov Brothers on Broadway, and with several jazz and pop ensembles in Portland, Oregon.

The music begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26.

Tickets are $12 in advance at the Raymond Theatre, 323 Third St.; Raymond Pharmacy; and South Bend Pharmacy. Admission is $15 at the door.
