CENTRALIA — Aberdeen snagged two victories each in singles and doubles play to defeat Centralia on Wednesday in an Evergreen 2A Conference match at Centralia.
Aberdeen’s Luis Garcia stayed undefeated on the season winning the No. 3 singles match in straight sets, while Ryan Solan won the No. 1 match for Aberdeen in two sets.
The Bobcats got a victory from Aaron Dyer and Bryan Sidor at Doubles No. 3, but Aberdeen coach Andy Duffy said the doubles team of Josh Germeaux and Cody Sayres had the match of the day. The duo won the No. 1 doubles match, 6-2, 1-6, 7-5.
“(Josh and Cody) lost to this team in straight sets when they came to Aberdeen,” Duffy said. “They played a great first set, had a little let down in the second set and they got down 1-4 in the third set, but they dug in and played good smart, solid tennis.”
Aberdeen (6-2) travels to Chehalis today.

CHEHALIS — Earning medalis honors for the first time in his career, Brendan King led Aberdeen to a victory over Rochester at Riverside Golf Course in Chehalis on Wednesday.
King fired a 44 to earn medalist honors and pace the Bobcats. Grant Larson and Jaxson Larson each fired a 48 for Aberdeen.
“A win is a win and we will take this one,” Aberdeen coach Dan Sundstrom said. “This is the first time most of our players have been able to play Riverside. Now that they have seen the course, hopefully when we go back and play Centralia they will do better.”
The Bobcats return to Riverside to take on Centralia on Monday.

TACOMA — Grays Harbor College played even through almost the entire first half, but, in the end, Tacoma Community College proved to be too powerful in this NWAC Western Division soccer match.
The Titans (5-0-1 in division play) scored two quick goals in the 38th and 40th minutes off defensive lapses by the Chokers and rolled to victory. Tacoma added goals in the 65th, 68th and 86th minutes.
Despite the final score, Schumacher said he was very pleased with the effort his team gave. Schumacher cited Deisy Beas, Morgan Jump and Taylor Birdsall for their efforts.
GHC (0-6, 1-1-8) hosts Pierce on Saturday.
