A home, motorhome and passenger vehicle were destroyed in an early morning fire Thursday in the 100 block of Heritage Drive in Elma, according to a statement from the Elma Fire Department.
The blaze was reported just before 2:30 a.m. The first arriving unit, a fire engine from Elma Fire, found a fully involved single story home and motorhome and a partially involved passenger vehicle. Elma firefighters deployed a hose line for defensive purposes. A Fire District 5 engine was next on the scene and deployed a second line on the other side of the home. Fire District 12, McCleary Fire and local law enforcement assisted at the scene.
Fire personnel were on the scene until nearly 6:30 a.m. The house, motorhome and passenger vehicle were total losses, but all the residents and pets were able to escape without injury. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the occupants displaced by the fire.
