Judy Lee Fruen passed away at her Elma home on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016. She was 67. Judy was born on June 19, 1949, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Edgar and Cloy (White) Morgan. The family later moved to Panama, Okla., where Judy was raised and graduated with Panama High School Class of 1967.
While living in Panama, Judy met Grady Edward Fruen. On Oct. 15, 1968, Grady and Judy were married. In 1977, they moved to Elma, Wash., and continued their lives together.
Judy enjoyed spending time with her sisters and family. She also enjoyed sewing, reading, baking and going for rides.
Judy is survived by her sons David (Melissa) Fruen and Tim (Karrie) Fruen both of Elma, Wash.; her sisters Rebecca Larson of Olympia, Wash., Sally Everson of Pahrump, Nev., and Alice Wiley of Van Buren, Ark.; and her partner of 19 years Donald Mattson of Elma. Along with her stepchildren Donna (Ray) Shoop and Eric (Brandy) Richardson both of Olympia, Wash.; several nieces and nephews; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband Grady Fruen.
A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at Abundant Life Church in Elma, Wash. A reception will follow.
