William B. Murray, a lifetime Raymond resident, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at the Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend. He was 71. Bill was born Jan. 16, 1947, in Raymond to William and Jennie (Miller) Murray.
He was a graduate of Willapa Valley High School with the class of 1965. Bill married Janet Boerner June 28, 1969, at the Raymond Methodist Church. She survives him at the family home in Raymond.
Bill worked for Weyerhaeuser as a logger for 43 years, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed his time spent outdoors working in the woods, gardening, mowing, cutting lumber on his sawmill, hunting and fishing. He also cherished his time spent with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He also enjoyed following the Mariners and the Seahawks. Bill was an amazing storyteller and jokester. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife Janet of Raymond, his daughter Angela (Tony) Michaelson of Lake Stevens; and his two sons, Craig (Christine) Murray of Raymond and Brian (Tonja) Murray of Moses Lake. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Maddilyn, McKenna, Mylie, Coltyn, Bryden and Tanner as well as his dog and best friend, Maggie.
