Man arrested for allegedly holding his grandmother against her will in Ocean Shores

An Ocean Shores man was arrested for allegedly holding his 88-year-old grandmother in her home against her will on Sunday night. He’s being held under suspicion of unlawful imprisonment.

At about 11:10 p.m. on Sunday, the grandmother called 911 to report that her 45-year-old grandson — who had been staying with her for a few days — was acting irrationally, according to a news release from the Ocean Shores Police Department. This occurred at a home on South Razor Clam Drive SW, in Ocean Shores.

The victim told the dispatcher that she could not speak freely because the suspect was standing nearby.

When officers arrived, they saw the suspect peeking out the windows at them. When they knocked at the door and announced who it was, the man retreated into the house. The grandmother then began screaming. An officer forced open the front and back doors and quickly took the man into custody.

The victim told officers that when the suspect heard police were at the door, he told her not to answer. When she tried to move toward the door, he allegedly pushed her against the door and would not let her move. That’s when she began yelling for help.

The man was then booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on a charge of unlawful imprisonment.
