The Aberdeen Police Department recently welcomed two new officers with local roots to their ranks, according to Lt.. Kevin Darst.
Dillon Mitchell, 22, grew up in the East Hoquiam area, graduated from Wishkah Valley High School and was part of Aberdeen’s Police Explorer program. He attended Grays Harbor College, receiving his Associate of Arts degree in 2015.
Nathan Nussbaum, 23, grew up in the Montesano area and was a 2013 graduate of Montesano High School. He attended Grays Harbor College and then Eastern Kentucky University, where he is completing his Bachelor of Science in homeland security.
Mitchell and Nussbaum won’t officially begin employment as police officers until June 13, 2019, when they go to the Washington State Training Commission’s Burien Police Academy to take their physical agility tests.
