Bob and Mary Jane (Carowick) Spoonhoward of Elma will soon celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary.
The couple was married Nov. 29, 1958, at the United Methodist Church in Dravosburg, Pennsylvania. They moved to the Harbor in 1971. Since 1980, they have owned and operated Sweet Melody Learning Center, a licensed in-home child care center.
They have nine daughters: Valerie Arnold, Cyndi Blazek, Debbie Woodruff, Karen Spoonhoward and Elizbeth Bouchard, all of Elma; Ruby Spoonhoward, of Aberdeen; Natasha Spoonhoward, of Mossyrock; Lea Marie Green, of Westport; and Lindsey Kuni of Eugene, Oregon. They also have one son, Bob Spoonhoward, of Elma. Another son, Jerome Green, died in 2004. They also have 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
An open house in honor of their 60th anniversary will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Elma Alliance Church.
